“Don’t be that a-hole who moves to Italy & falls in love with some dude from New Jersey…”, even better I fell in love with a guy from NY. Mikey & I met while studying abroad in one of the most romantic cities in the world: Rome, Italy. We spent our weekdays binging on pizza at our university’s open-air courtyard, & spent weekends jet-setting all over Europe. Our weekly dates & weekend trips were an average person’s honeymoon.

Alongside a Master’s degree in Business, we pride ourselves in gaining an unofficial Master’s degree in European romance. So from our passports to yours, here are 10 romantic things to do in Europe with your sweetheart!

1) Take a night stroll around Rome, Italy

After hours are truly the best time to enjoy Roman past times. Ancient monuments are lit up & the cobble-stone streets are practically empty. Snag a kiss while tossing a coin at the Trevi fountain, & buy a flower from a local vendor to add a touch of Rome-ance to your night.

2) Ride a moped along the French Riviera

Feel like Bonnie & Clyde or Beyonce & Jay-Z cruising through the luxurious French Riviera. French kissing is “french” for a reason, right?

3) Watch the Sunset in Santorini, Greece

You won’t feel alone with the herds of tourists watching this iconic sunset. But you’ll feel like the only two who matter when the sun sets over the Aegan Sea.

4) Have a Picnic at the Eiffel Tower

Aside from the typical walk up the Eiffel Tower or dinner cruise along the Seine River, have a picnic at the Eiffel Tower. Pick up a bottle of Bordeaux wine & Brie cheese at a local market, then let time pass with your mon chéri.

5) Listen to Classical Music at an Austrian Palace

Beethoven, Mozart, & the Sound of Music feel much more romantic with a view of the Austrian Alps. At the decadent palaces the classical tunes will echo from wall to wall & make your love feel regal.

6) Explore the Amalfi Coast by Boat

From dusk to dawn, the views along the Amalfi Coast are breathtaking. Whether it’s messy hair from PDA or messy hair from the ocean breeze, the Amalfi Coast by boat is amore.

7) Cruise the Italian Lakes

The Italian lakes are for the forever type of loves. Swoon over Lake Como’s dramatic alpine scenary or kite-surf along the the glossy waters & breezy wind of Lake Garda.

8) Take a road trip in Scotland

Travel truly tests a couple’s compatibility, especially when your partner is driving through the Scottish countryside on the other side of the road. The rolling hills of Scotland will surely fill your heart with ‘lochs' of love.

9) Ride bikes along Barceloneta Beach in Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is not only fun for single friends, but also a great playground for couples. Rent bikes (or in Mikey’s case a longboard) & ride along Barceloneta Beach together, then enjoy cava & tapas by the beach.

10) Stay in a cabin in the Swiss Alps

After adventurous activities such as skiing or canyon jumping, cuddling by the fireplace with a cup of Swiss hot chocolate is as warm & cozy as it gets.

Two Americans meeting in Rome & their first date is sharing spaghetti…sounds more or less like a Lady & the Tramp cliché! But don’t get fooled, our love story is far from a Disney fairytale - but it’s certainly a travel couple's dream.
