Handmade by my incredible Shipibo shamans during my Ayahuasca retreat in the Arkana Spiritual Center in Peru. This handmade bracelet represents “icaros”, which is a ceremonial song of protection and healing during Ayahuasa ceremonies.

Shipibo art is one of the most representative cultural expressions of the Peruvian Amazon. Shipibo women create most of the handicrafts, using techniques passed down from generation to generation.

Shipibos drink the sacred plant medicine of Ayahuasca before creating their designs. Inspired by colorful geometric shapes and patterns during ceremonies, this mystical activity is reflective of their Shipibo cosmology. Handicrafts are meticulously created, taking several months to produce.
