Buddhist prayer flag from Bhutan (blessed by Buddhist monks at Tiger’s Nest Monastery)

One way Buddhists spread good karma is by hanging up these colorful prayer flags in their homes, in nature, or even in their cars. Each color of the flag represents an element: white symbolizing air, red is fire, blue is sky, green is water, & yellow is earth . Prayer flags are hung up all over Buddhist nations such as Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibet. The prayers & mantras on the flags are said to be blown by the wind to spread good will to the universe.
